Great atmosphere - great platformer
Its easy to write LIMBO off as just a glorified Flash platformer, but in reality LIMBO is much, much more. Its eerie atmosphere and lack of clarity towards the young boy and the world you are in make it all the more unsettling. You constantly feel like you are truly exploring as each new area yields unpredictable new puzzles, environments, and foes.
Sometimes LIMBOs puzzles are too trial-and-error with reaction based introductions causing you to die from obstacles you had no idea were coming. On the other hand, LIMBOs puzzles are all fairly straight forward after a bit of thought, you are unlikely to find yourself in the same kind of jam that BRAID commonly puts you in. Quick reflexes and a nack for problem solving makes LIMBO a breeze. Dont mistake this for a criticism, LIMBO is a unique and engrossing game even if it could stand to be a bit more challenging.
Oh, best part? Its beautiful, and accessible to even moderately powerful Macs. Low graphical requirements mean there is a low bar of entry for this great game.
