Fun, but could be better

Beautifully artistic and dark, this is a unique platformer that I very much enjoyed. Though, while I was on whole impressed by the games mechanics and ingenuity at drawing the player into its shadowed atmosphere, there are a few things that I was looking for and didnt find. First of all, it is a short game (2 to 6 hours), and has little replayability due to the nature of the puzzles. In addition, there is very little story, and while one could see the plot as "open to interpretation" I felt as though there was nothing to connect the player to the character. Finally, I thought that the game started very strong, but dwindled near the end, going from the fear of being chased by a man-eating spider, to the mundanity of pushing boxes into the right places. That all said, this game is certainly a work of art, and even during the "mundanity of pushing boxes", its eerie atmosphere keeps the player engaged.

Amazing game and visually stunning

Everything about this game is flawless. Visually its gorgeous, it full of mystery of wonder, physics are part of the puzzles. So well executed. If you like the look of the screenshots, you wont be disappointed. Only thing is I wish it was longer. But thats forgiven seeing as how theres so much quality packed into it.

controls in limbo

Visually beautiful, poorly thought out control. As with mostly all games now - style over function. There is a whole keyboard to use but this game decides to restict control to 5 keys on the lower right keyboard, and you cant change controls in options. I played PC and apple games in the 80s with the same clunky game control concepts. Hey game developers, frustrating game control does not make for a quality challenging game. For that its a big letdown for an otherwise great game.

Too action paced for an adventure….

I took a look at this game due to adventure game enthusiasts mentioning this. While I love point & click adventure games for problemsolving through scenes, I felt this one was TOO action based. Often you need to be within a tenth of a second (and no more) with your button smashing. This kept ruining it for me, as I only had this on the default difficulty. Problem solving was fun, it’s the action I didn’t like. I also felt this was too short due to the standard cost. I finished it within three sessions after work. Good thing I got it dirt cheap on sale though… 

Perfect

I Loved It. It Was Simple Fun. Great Way To Pass Time By

Excellent

There’s a reason this game won so many awards - Games like this don’t come along very often.

Art

Could not stop playing this. Seriously. Its beautiful, its gory, its funny and its challenging. There isnt much story, but thats fine. The visuals are stunning, but the sound is possibly even better. Background noises, "music," everything. Just perfect. The whole thing is minimal from beginning to end. And speaking of the end, the ending was so unusual I practically applauded. My favourite game in a long time on the Mac.

Beautiful

Gorgeous graphics, amazing sounds, wonderfully creative death scenes, all in atmospheric Limbo. Made me laugh and cringe. Will play this again. And probably again.

Should have been more dramatic and longer, otherwise great.

Limbo

The Simple Masterpiece!

More please!

Exellent game! Even my wife wathed me playing!

Stupendo

Era dai tempi di "another world" che non ero così coinvolto in un platform...

Dark and beautiful

I started playing this game and was amazed at the puzzles it had as well as how horrifing they could be! I recommend this game as it is fun, challenging, and tells a story as it goes. Please don’t pass this up, good game! ^_~

Beautiful

The Museum of Modern Art has acquired some video games this year, causing a bit of controversy in the art world. Though Im still on the fence, myself, if any game Ive played came close to being worthy of being described as art, it would probably be this one. This is a fantastic game. If you enjoyed platformers as a kid (or even as an adult!) you owe it to yourself to check this one out. Plays really well on my mid-2012 MacBook Pro, too. An absolute delight.

Outstanding Game, but it needs an update or a sequel!

Great game, challenging and thrilling. This game needs an update or sequal game.

No so satisfied

I was originally planning on buying it on my Xbox, but saw it on the Apple store and decided to get it here. I didnt expect the graphics to lag so much. Ive visited several websites to try to fix this but nothing works. Im now very upset I spent $10 on this when it was around $6 on the Xbox.

This game is gorgeous!!!!

I love to support games like this by paying for them, so much hard work must of gone into making this, its worth every penny!!!

Loved this game!

This game is so enjoyable to play, especially with headphones at night. Having a walk-through guide (available free online from several sites) helps when you get stuck. Overall, this is a different and challenging game. Wish there were more like it. Truly an original! If you liked this game, you might also like Machinarium.
