Top-Notch game for a low price

This game is well worth the ten bucks I paid for it. I usually dont like puzzle games, but this is an amazing exception! The puzzles arent easy, but not frustratingly hard either. Right from the start, the game is a mysterious, creepy, and sometimes frightening experience. No explanations are given, and none are needed. While the puzzles are fun, the beauty in the game is the atmosphere. The slightly creepy music, the giant spider thats trying to kill you, maggots inside peoples heads, and more delicious macabre details all make it a great experience. It is obvious that Arnt Jensen is a perfectionist, and has pored over every little aspect of his game. If you are looking for a good game for a low price, buy this game. Some may say that the game is too short, but for ten dollars it is well worth the experience.

WOW

Wow. This game is absolutely beautiful. I enjoy the causual side of gaming, something i can pick up for 20 minutes or so. This game moved at such a perfect pace for me and never ceased to lose my interest. My favorite game since Machinarium.

Creepy, mindboggling and weird.

If you like puzzles, brain challengers and a little disturbing eerieness on the side, this game is just for you. I hope they make another one.

Too short!

Game itself is extremely fun and exciting but it is too short. Considering the price for this game it shoud be longer than twice I believe.

Simply Awesome !!

This game is just amazing. Clever, dark and definitely morbid. Its like being in a scary movie. And the techniques required to solve the puzzles are just disturbing. Downloaded just to mess around with it and stayed on for hours. My new favorite game.

Evocative, atmospheric puzzle game for adults

Rated 9+ but really more suitable for adults that bring greater life experience and emotional depth because it’s more about the journey than the goals. I imagine most 9 year olds would finish it in a couple of hours and then get bored, but for parents of 9 year olds, it’s an adsorbing experience with a surprisingly emotional end. Excellent in every respect: concept, design, soundtrack, context specific controls and plenty of hidden treasures. And the best instructions of any game ever: none. No issues on my MB Pro 2011 running Mountain Lion.

OK I guess

intersting gameplay until the end levels, where it turns into timing of button pressing over puzzle solving, with technically hard solutions, but utterly unfulfilling solutions. Extrememly disappointed in the ending levels. Im angry because the whole game is about using your brain to find a novel solution to a problem, and then the finishing levels are click this combination precisely forget solving a problem with a unique solution.

Original and creative!

Limbo is the best computer graphics game Ive played in years: fun, challenging, and addictive! The animation work is amazing and the sound effects draw you inside the game. Put on your headphones, crank up the volume, and start walking….

Just awesome!

I was a bit wary of spending $10 on this, but it lived up to the hype. I love that it really challenges your mind to come up with the solutions. I blew through the first part of the game, but the last half took a while. I wish it had been a bit longer, but Ill just hope for a Limbo 2.

Not worth the $10

I know $10 is not a ton for a game, but Ive seem a lot of games at this price range that were far better. The game was a simple straight progression puzzle game. Get from one end to the other and solve challenges along the way. The B&W was cool for about the first 10 minutes, so was the eerie feeling and morbid deaths, but after 10 minutes I wanted to finish it so I could delete it. Im irritated that I felt I had to finish it to get my moneys worth because the ending was abrupt and a complete let down. If this game was under $3, I would have given it 3 stars, which is as high as I would go.

REALLY!!!!!!!!

i got the game and it went to my dock and when it was down downloading it vanished! please help! i had a demo on steam and i had a gift card for mac so i bought it. Rate 5 when it stops doing this PLZ help

Best game Ive played in a while

Great atmosphere. Felt like being in Begotten the video game. Worth every penny and insanly satisfying to solve all the puzzels without hints.

great for what it

I read the reviews and was hesitant to buy the game, however, it is wholly worth the price. There are some complaints about it freezing but I did not have any problems with the game.

very great artwork and fun game play

very great artwork and fun game play

Renewed my love for gaming

What a beautiful, beautiful game this is. The atmosphere is absolutely fantastic. Stunning, haunting images. Great sounds. For lots of years I havent gamed anymore, but this... this is the type of game that I want to see more of.

Great problem solving

Limbo is a simple game that encourages experimentation and logic to solve environmental puzzles. The game can be dificult, but not unfairly so. With patience, trial and error, and simple physics, you will pass each challenge. The satisfaction of finishing levels drives you to continue the game as each puzzle solved leaves you with a sense of accomplishment. Brennon

Just a lesson

Think of your life. Think of the challanges, the obstacles, the adversities that you face on an everyday basis. Think of your loved ones. Think of the joy and sorrow and pleasure and pain that youve gone through and come up against with them by your side. Think of death. That beast that someday will stare you down as its stared countless down before you. That dark and beautiful thing that will rip away many of the people that you hold dear to your heart. Limbo has touched my heart in a way that will have me visiting it for many years when I miss the ones that I hold dear. I cant say thank you enough for this "game", this puzzle, this challenge that has helped me define loss.

A little short and wheres the story?

The game is fun and pretty challenging, but its short (about 2 hours) and not much replayability for the price. Also, basically no story.

Captivating.

Between the haunting black-and-white graphics, the sharp-as-a-knife sound effects, and the difficult-but-not-impossible puzzle gameplay, LIMBO doesnt have much room for improvement. The game is highly comparable to Braid (another sidescrolling puzzler with great audio), although Braids gameplay is slightly more complex and challenging, in my opinion.

Fun game, but lacks instructions

This is a fun game. The graphics are beautiful. But, I think the intention is to make the game instructions intuitive. This is where the game fall shorts. You will need to look online for strategies to understand how to play this game (e.g. how to jump/push or pull crates). Sadly, you may run into to game strategies that lure you away from the challenge. Suggestion: Include game instructions at the start of this game.
